If you've ever had a rewarding experience volunteering, you know that it's not always clear who benefits more: the person donating their time and services, or the recipient. This is especially true when working with animals. That win-win scenario is exemplified in The Latham Letter article "A New Wrinkle in Animal-Assisted Therapy," written by Lynn Loar, Ph.D., LCSW, President, The Pryor Foundation and Ken White, President, Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA.

Taming Shy or Feral Rabbits with Clicker Training
By BUNS on 06/27/2006Editor's note: Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter, or BUNS, is a nonprofit volunteer group that cares for abandoned rabbits (and guinea pigs) at the Santa Barbara County Stray Animal Shelter in Santa Barbara, California . The organization educates potential adopters and performs home visits before placing rabbits. All of BUNS' rabbits are spayed or neutered before being adopted. BUNS added clicker training to enrich the lives of both shelter and adopted rabbits, and found that clicker training can be used to increase adoptable behaviors in their rabbits. The group also offers rabbit clicker training classes. Visit the BUNS website for further information.

- Come when called
- "Gimme five" with a paw
