Clickin' the Pug, vol. 17

I don't know if it's just me, but every few days when I go to sign in to blog, my password doesn't seem to work. I request a new one and I get in fine, but it's getting to be a bit annoying. Has this happened to anyone else? I reported it, so hopefully it'll bring some awareness to the problem.

I realized something the other day. I'm no longer just pickingĀ one or two behaviors to work on in our training sessions. I can go through all of them one at a time, right after one another, in any order, and she does them! I guess we've progressed from teaching them to 'knowing' them, and I'm just thrilled to death! For instance...Saturday (I think it was our evening session) I was working on targeting. I have worked on this before, and Frankie's a rock star with it, but this time I took two yogurt type lids, different colors, and set them on the floor on each side of me. I started out clicking each time she touched one of them, didn't matter which one, I just wanted a paw touch. Then I started pointing to the one I wanted her to touch. She picked up on that in a hot minute! About 90% accuracy, too! Once we did this for a few minutes, I started giving her other commands in between the touches. Mostly sits and downs, but I threw in a 'wave' occasionally, and she nailed about 90% of them. So this is what we've been working on the last few days. Just brushing up for our class tomorrow night.

Ack!!! Tomorrow!!!

In other news....we have snow. We're at a pretty low elevation, so it isn't sticking on the ground, but we expect at least a few inches tonight. I can't remember the last time we got snow so early in the season. Maybe this is a sign of things to come this winter? I hope so...don't tell my husband, but I like snow! He, unfortunately, has a 45 minute commute, so I can see his point, as well.

OH...you're gonna love this! My Sunday school kids sang on Sunday in honor of Thanksgiving. We had been working on the song for a few weeks. It's an easy one, so I wasn't worried. So we get up there, and our regular pianist is gone that day, so there was a substitute. She forgot her music, so I gave her mine to use. Things were going well....until the second verse.

Here are the words to the second verse...Eyes and ears and hands and feet, clothes to wear and food to eat.

Here's what I (and half of the kids who were aparently reading my lips sang)...Eyes and ears and hands and feet, clothes to wear andĀ SHOES to eat.

Holy heck. I can't believe I said shoes!

AND...to top it off, the president of our area was sitting in church and he had the opportunity to speak for a few minutes. He called me on it and gave me a hard time! It was all in a joking way, of course. And I can laugh at myself better than anyone, so it was all in good fun, but dangit...I was hoping no one would notice and we would have a good laugh when we got back to Sunday school. NOT!!

Oh well, we still had a good laugh in Sunday school anyway. The poor kids were saying, "You made us say shoes!!"

That's all for now!
