Tonight was the first night of a new puppy class, my first back since my maternity leave! What a fun class! Although it is a small class with only two puppies, they are two perfectly matched puppies. One puppy began the night a bit shy, she had a frightening experience with other puppies only the day before. The other puppy was pretty fearless, but he was so polite with the other puppy that they quickly became friends and played as much as they could before and after their lesson.
I just love watching puppies realize that they have a language they can use and enjoy others company. Having a dog who was traumatized at a poorly run class (oh, the things I have learned!) and still deals with residual issues from that experience, I am passionate about allowing puppies to blossom at their own pace and ensure that their experiences are wonderful ones. I am confident that tonight we helped at least one puppy be comfortable in her own skin!
