Working therapy dogs, hearing ear dogs
Tigerlily and Dandylion are both registered working therapy dogs. We volunteer most often at Spring Harbor hospital, in pediatric pyschiatric units, but we also volunteer and perform freestyle at fundraisers all over the state of Maine.
Tigerlily also performed recently in her first CPE agility competition, where she placed first and qualified in a game called "Wildcard." Now three years old, Tigerlily also loves to swim, is a fantastic retriever and a boat dog.
I have hearing loss, and I've trained both my dogs in hearing and retrieving service behaviors. Tigerlily alerts me to noises in the house, she can find and retrieve a beeping phone and alert to other noises at home, as well as alerting me to approaching cars when we are on a walk. Dandylion has alerted me to a fire in the chimney and Tigerlily has alerted me to a baby bird caught in a pipe, in addition to the ordinary things. They were both entirely clicker [1] trained.
