Basil goes to work with Mom

I took Basil to work with me last night. While I taught 3 hours of pet classes, he sat in a crate and waited. Apparently that build-up of anticipation did something to him, because he came rocketing out of his crate and slammed down a gorgeous training session [0]!

His signals were beautiful; he did miss one sit signal, which meant I gave him a verbal, but that was the only flub in the entire session. I was working at about 12 steps away, so that's approximately 25 feet. He was on fire!

We also did go-outs using a broad jump chute (I have temporarily ditched the idea of fading to jump bars), and the first go-out was so fast and furious that he actually slammed into the wall with a great thud! I moved the broad jump chute away from the wall by about 4 feet over the course of 10 or so repetitions, and he didn't have a single mistake.

It was so so so so nice to have a great session like that. It's what's keeping me going at this point. I felt just as energized and empowered as my little Scottie boy did by the time we were finished. I was fast and loose with the jackpots last night.
