This morning's session went really well, except I mixed criteria too quickly on go outs.
Yesterday, I carted the broad jump chute all over the basement and did very short go-outs to generalize Basil to new locations. Everything went well. This morning, however, I did the same thing, and then tried to go back to our favorite basement wall and do a 20-foot go out. The distance is not the problem, as that's an easy distance for an old, familiar location....however, the problem was that I did some go outs to the western wall, and then turned and tried to do some to our old favorite wall (facing north). Instead of shooting out straight ahead of me, Basil veered to our right and tried to do a go out to our immediate right, at the spot we'd just done them. Darn it, darn it, darn it. Lesson learned. Too early to blend criteria just yet.
Signals were perfect--not a single error. Gloves also went well. I started by doing some brief holds in front, and then went to short (2') tosses for most of the glove session. Basil is sitting in front and holding and I'm seeing a lot less flinging. We didn't do any articles...will save those for later today.
